A shocking explosion rocked the area outside Arc Fertility and Desert Regional Medical Center. Authorities confirmed it was a vehicle-borne IED, deliberately detonated by 25-year-old Edward Bartkus of 29 Palms, who died in the blast. Several others were injured, and nearby buildings—including a Denny’s five blocks away—sustained damage.
Investigators later uncovered a disturbing online manifesto where Bartkus ranted against IVF and procreation itself, embracing anti-natalist and nihilistic beliefs.
