Snowmission’s sixth annual contest wrapped up Saturday night at Parc Mont-Comi, Quebec, with a victory by Simon Reid from Mont Tremblant, who took home a Polaris RMK 800 snowmobile worth $15,000. His brother Charles took second place with winnings of $5,000 and Jason Dubois, last year’s winner, completed the podium. The best trick was awarded to Maxence Parrot with a Backside Double Cork 1080 earning him $1,000. He and Christopher Collard also went back home with envelopes for their fourth and fifth place finishes.

In the women category, Laurie Blouin, got up on the podium’s highest step leaving the contest $2,500 richer. Second and third places went to Tamara Truchon and Joanie Robichaud, rewarding them $1,000 and $500 respectively. Tamara was also honored for best trick during the competition.

The 2011 edition took place under the Mont Comi wintry weather and the massive crowd and its creative course resulted in an explosive final. Also featured this year: over 15 snowboard companies showing up 2012’s products with on-snow demo opportunities. More than 5,000 noisy people showed up to support the competitors. To conclude this amazing day a full house was waiting for Montreal band Think About Life and a spectacular performance.
