Join The Hill on Tuesday night for three hours of live primary night coverage focused on contests in Texas and North Carolina.
In Texas, Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) is facing a tough primary opponent in state Attorney General Ken Paxton. Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-Texas) is also in the race.
Many Republicans fear Paxton could be a weaker general election candidate than Cornyn, while Democrats are eyeing a Texas-sized upset if Paxton prevails in the primary.
Someone must get 50 percent of the vote to avoid a runoff election in the spring.
Democrats have their own contested primary between Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D) and state Rep. James Talarico, and their own problem. Some Democrats see Crockett as potentially being a weaker general election candidate than Talarico, and Republicans have been open about seeing the state representative as the more formidable general election candidate.
Polls suggest the winner is anyone’s guess.
