UPDATE: April 18, 2015. CeliaSue found a shared room situation and some money to fix her car and get her through the summer, thanks to the incredible response of our supporters. Thank you!
We made this video on April 8, 2015 to shine a light on a wonderful lady and her dog and their search for a safe home. Sixty five year old CeliaSue and her dog Cici have been living out of hotel rooms or her car in the SF Bay Area since September 2014, a job made much more difficult since she was diagnosed with breast cancer. CeliaSue is currently trying to recover from surgery in a hotel room, but funds are running out and the stress is mounting. Despite the fact that she has huge obstacles – her SS retirement check is only $700 a month – CeliaSue is looking forward to finding a home and getting back to her lifetime vocation as a writer and editor. The traditional approach to home-searching (Craigslist, etc) has been discouraging and full of scams. Getting these two friends home is going to take a village of people who care and word of mouth sharing. Thank you for watching and for sharing around with your circles.
