The first of three segments about Congressman Arthur Ravenel, Jr. We learn how his ancestors came here from France, his fight to develop programs that allowed retarded and handicapped children to stay at home instead of being sent to asylums, and how he gathered the money and people needed to build the new bridge that graces the skyline in Charleston.

“Builders of Our Heritage”is a celebration of the achievements and contributions of the people that make our beautiful, ethnically-diverse society. Our objective is to build a stronger community through a greater cultural appreciation.
