House Republican leaders held their first leadership stakeout since returning from August recess as the November midterm elections approach.
Speaker Mike Johnson discussed the fight for the House majority and said the contest could come down to roughly 20 swing districts.
Republican leaders also highlighted taxes, border security, affordability and the Clarity Act, which would establish a federal framework for digital assets.
The Senate later voted 49-50 against advancing the Clarity Act, falling short of the 60 votes required.
