At the direction of U.S. Southern Command, Joint Task Force Southern Spear carried out a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel in the Eastern Pacific linked to designated terrorist organizations and suspected narco-trafficking routes.
U.S. officials say intelligence confirmed the vessel was actively engaged in narco-trafficking operations. One individual was killed, and two others survived. The U.S. Coast Guard was immediately notified to initiate search and rescue procedures.
