Authorities in Edmond, Oklahoma, have made the first arrest in connection with a deadly mass shooting that erupted during an unsanctioned party at Arcadia Park, leaving one teen dead and at least 23 people injured.
Police say 18-year-old Jalen Davis has been taken into custody and is facing an upgraded charge of felony murder following the death of 18-year-old Avion Smith Gray, who succumbed to her injuries days after the shooting. Officials confirm the investigation is still active, with at least one additional suspect believed to be at large.
Investigators report the violence began after a disturbance escalated into a larger confrontation involving multiple individuals, with dozens of shots fired and evidence suggesting some weapons may have been modified. Davis is currently being held on a $1 million bond as authorities continue their search for others involved.
